Edward Harsy

	Edward Harsy, age 68, of Pinckneyville, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 22, 2002 at his home.
	Ed was born in DuQuoin on January 16, 1934, the son of Edward E. and Jessie (Welch) Harsy.  He married Patricia A. Keene on February 6, 1954 in Pinckneyville and she survives.  During his lifetime, he was a farmer, member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, worked as an operating engineer at Freeman United Coal Company in DuQuoin for 30 years and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
	Survivors include his wife:  Patricia of Pinckneyville; sons:  Mark E. Harsy of Pinckneyville and Mitchell D. Harsy and his wife, Rebecca, of Vergennes; a grandson:  Nathan E. Harsy and his wife, Katie, of Tamaroa and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter:  Amanda.
	Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 25 at 11 a.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, with Reverend James Bush officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin.
